After the speeches
Everything that happens once the lights drop.
The lighting sets the room up. This is the part that gets people out of their seats — and the generator that makes sure none of it stops.
01 — Dance floors
A floor changes
where people stand.
Put a defined floor in a room and the dancing collects on it instead of drifting around the tables. We lay the floor, hang what goes above it, and light it so it reads as the centre of the room rather than a patch of the carpet.
- ADance floorsLaid, lit and taken down as part of the same job.
- BMirror ballThe oldest effect there is, and still the one people look up at.
02 — Disco lighting & DJs
Sound and light
from one crew.
Disco lighting is a different job to decorative lighting — it moves, it's on the beat, and it has to be run by somebody watching the room. We supply the rig and the DJ, so there's one set-up, one takedown and nobody blaming anybody else.
- ADisco lighting & DJsThe rig and the person running it.
- BLive bandWe have supplied a live rock band, The Notion, for functions that want one.
03 — Effects
For the ninety
seconds that matter.
Dry ice sits low and rolls across the floor — it's the first-dance effect. Smoke fills the air instead, which is what makes beams of light visible at all. They do different jobs and people often ask for the wrong one; we'll tell you which you actually want.
- ADry ice effectsLow-lying cloud that stays at floor level.
- BSmoke machinesFills the air so beams and colour become visible.
- CPhotographic effectsLighting set for the camera as well as the eye.
04 — Backup power
The lighting shouldn't be
the thing that goes dark.
We carry generators and invertors as part of the service, not as an afterthought.
If your venue is on a schedule, or it's a garden, a farm or a marquee with no proper supply, say so on the enquiry form. It changes what we bring and it is far cheaper to plan for than to solve on the night.

In their words
“The lighting made the function come to life — the dance floor made such an impact.”
