01 — Weddings & celebrations

The photographs
outlive the room.

A canopy of fairy light over the dance floor, pinspots dropped onto the table centres, uplights washing the walls, and the ceremony lit separately from the party. We're there from set-up until takedown, so nothing has to be handed over mid-evening.

02 — Simchas

Barmitzvahs and
batmitzvahs.

A large part of what we do, and the reason MyChitsa exists. The lighting has to work for the formal part of the evening and the part where a hall full of teenagers takes over — those are two different rooms.

03 — Corporate & gala

Somebody signs
off on this.

A corporate function is judged on whether it looked considered — and on whether the crew turned up when they said they would. We've lit two events at Sun City for a major banking group, and the brief there was the same as it is for a fifty-person year-end: make the room look like it was planned.

04 — Exhibitions & shows

Stands compete.
Light is how
you win.

On an exhibition floor everyone has the same ceiling and the same grey carpet. The stands people walk towards are the ones that are brighter, warmer or more deliberately lit than the two beside them. Metal halides on the structure, spots on the product.
